Network Specialist Senior
Job Duties
- Manage enterprise network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, WAPs, IDPS, VPNs, load balancers, encryption devices, etc.) to ensure optimal performance, in alignment with SOPs.
- Execute Tier III support, including emergency troubleshooting, configuration, and remediation of complex network issues.
- Coordinate and communicate network outages, changes, and escalations with mission partners such as the 844th CG, 114th Signal BN, WHS, and DISA.
- Provide configuration and implementation support for add/move/change tasks including IP addressing, switch/router configuration, and endpoint connectivity.
- Support the integration of new technologies and infrastructure changes.
- Collaborate with vendors and OEM technical support to resolve hardware/software issues.
- Maintain accurate and timely submission of operations logs documenting significant events, outages, and system changes.
- Generate and present After-Action Reports (AARs) for outages affecting 15+ users.
- Monitor and manage F5 load balancer operations and ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Active Top Secret, with SCI eligibility
- Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise network operations and engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, VPNs, IPsec, and QoS.
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and F5 network devices.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools.
- Working knowledge of STIGs, IAVAs, POA&Ms, and DoD IA/CS standards.
- Familiarity with ACAS, HBSS, and other DoD cybersecurity tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience supporting mission-critical 24/7 network environments.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Understanding of DOD CAC characteristics and CAC/Smart card operation and procedures to include CAC middleware and hardware, with a least one-year experience.
- Familiar with DoD 8520.02, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Public Key Enabling (PKE).
- Skilled verbal and written communication techniques required to conduct meetings, and prepare reports and other correspondence
- Must be able to work independently.
- Possess analytical processing skills.
- Required: DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, or equivalent).
- Desired: Cisco CCNP, F5 Certified, Juniper, or Palo Alto certifications.
- Experience with DoD organizations.
- Prior work supporting CCRIs or SAVs.
- Familiarity with COMSEC integration and configuration.
